Veja – French sneakers meet Brazilian sustainability
In 2004, Sébastien Kopp and François-Ghislain Morillion meet with cotton farmers and rubber tappers in Brazil to establish the production chain for their new brand Veja. The plan works out and Veja produces sneakers that not only look good, but also promote economic justice and social projects through the use of organic cotton and rubber, recycled plastic bottles and recycled polyester. The sneakers are made in factories in Brazil and managed by Log'ins, a professional and social inclusion company. Veja says it best themselves: "The idea behind a pair of Veja: one foot in design and the other in social responsibility."
