In 1972 further milestones and the move from the East to the West Coast follow: The first own Polo Ralph Lauren store in Beverly Hills, the first complete women's collection and the release of polo shirts in 24 colors. By the way, the polo shirt was not invented by Ralph Lauren, but by tennis player René Lacoste, for whom typical tennis outfits in the 1920s were too uncomfortable and above all too unathletic. This was followed by fragrances for men and women, the breakthrough on the international market and several restaurants. Even today Polo Ralph Lauren is and remains a safe choice when it comes to stylish, sporty womenswear and menswear.
