Michael Jordan: basketball god, legend, jumpman. It all began in 1984 when Michael Jordan came from the University of North Carolina to register for the NBA draft. One of his greatest dreams: an adidas deal. The brand with the three stripes said "Nope!", instead showing interest in physically larger, seemingly more dominant players. A good thing for NIKE, who wanted to get Jordan on board. The only problem was that Jordan was an adidas fan and NIKE had to put in a little work to convince him, such as offering him his own signature basketball shoe. The rest is history, as in 1985 the legendary Air Jordan 1 was released, for example in the black & red "Bred" Colorway, which did not go down well in the NBA as the basketball shoes had to be mostly white – banned! From that point on a new Jordan model was released (almost) every year, with milestones including the Air Jordan 5 "Grape", the Air Jordan 11 "Concord" or the Air Jordan 13, which MJ wore during his last season with the Bulls and also played a "supporting role" in the film "He Got Game", for example. However, Jordan represents more than „"just" basketball shoes, with the brand with the Jumpman also having featured lifestyle sneakers, apparel, accessories and of course that certain "Be like Mike" feeling!
