This retro running shoe is ready for its revival. In 1977, Nike launched the LD-1000 and recalled it shortly after due to safety concerns over its dramatically flared heel, which, along with the cushioning sole, is supposed to provide a comfortable fit. Phil Knight expected a scandal to follow the recall, but instead he received gratitude from die-hard runners and loyal customers. The LD-1000 was shelved and lost for decades - but the wait is over. It's finally back in a fresh colorway with a yellow upper and orange accents on the Swoosh and heel.
